W ith numerous provincial and national championship titles to their credit and now multiple world championship titles, Inge Weber and Muffie Grieve are splendid examples of how tennis keeps you living better and living longer. Inge, Muffie and frequent team mate Evelyn Hustwit have dominated their mostly shared age category for decades and represented Canada in ITF team championships with aplomb. But it wasn't until 2012 that any of them actually managed to take the crown at a world individual championship and that year Inge Weber took the over 75 honours and Muffie Grieve the over 80 honours. Since 2012 Muffie has added 4 more world titles to her resume. In 2013 she defended her over 80 singles title and won the women's doubles playing with Margaret Canby of the USA. In 2014 she took the women's doubles and mixed doubles titles playing with Jackie Zylstra of South Africa and Max Byrne of Australia respectively. Inge was able to repeat her over 75 singles world championship in 2014 and in 2016 she won the over 80 singles world title. What makes Inge's story even more remarkable is that she won her first world title not long after having had both hips replaced. In celebration of their first visits to the top of the ITF world individual championships podium, Tennis Canada produced a comprehensive profile on each these two Super Senior Superstars. These articles have been included here and are also available at our ONTENNIS.ca website. BY PAM OLLEY FEATURE 14 SUMMER 2017 | TENNISONTARIO.com MEET OUR SUPERSENIOR SUPERSTARS!
