Her father competed in Davis Cup for Cambodia as a player and served as the team captain. Her mother had been a national badminton champion in Cambodia. However, in the early seventies, a revolutionary communist movement created a level of political unrest that would eventually develop THE ESCAPE JOURNEY INCLUDED TAKING A 15-HOUR BUS RIDE TO THE OUTSKIRT OF THE CAMBODIAN- THAI BORDER, THEN TAKING A TUK TUK THROUGH THE RICE FIELDS THROUGH SEVERAL NIGHTS STAYING AT RANDOM VILLAGES WITH STRANGERS. W ith postal rates rising dramatically and complications getting printed magazines to club members, particularly in Spring and Fall, Ontario Tennis has been moving to make the magazines available on line and soon will be moving to a website based format. Instead of a flip book, Ontario Tennis magazine stories will now be loaded onto a magazine website. Email subscribers will be sent an ONTENNIS magazine newsletter with the latest stories along with links to those stories. We will also be posting stories in SPIN magazine and on social media. Stories will be formatted so you can read them on your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop. Many of the stories will be like the ones you are used to finding in the current magazine, but now we will be able to add more photos, videos and incorporate new styles of articles as well as more in depth stories. We aren't totally going to be abandoning print as we will print one "best of Ontario Tennis" issue each year. You will be able to find this in your clubhouse or pick up your issue at the OTA booth at the Rogers Cup or other OTA events. Now you will also be able to use your favourite search engine to find articles from the current and from past Ontario Tennis magazines. We will be migrating articles from past magazines to the web site and eventually the web site will form an archive for the OTA and tennis in Ontario. We hope you will be as excited about this new venture as we are and we welcome your questions, thoughts, contributions and feedback at anytime. If you would like to become a contributor to the magazine please contact ONTennis@tennisontario.com. The ONTennis spring issue will be launched in April 2017.
